I have this below scenario for you.
I have a requirement where in a Stacked Chart I need to shade the chart area behind the bars based on the values in the x-axis. Below is the example to illustrate the problem even better.
I have 5 categories Category 1 to Category 5 so the chart area behind the bar for Category 4 and 5 should be colored as grey as they belong to the same group and for the others it should be as is. A picture for this condition has been attached.
I have also looked at this link and as it says it is not possible,
Would like to hear back from you all. Is there any standard feature to resolve this? If not is there any other workaround for this?

I cannot see any way to do exactly what you are after but perhaps a compromise might be to set the border colour for you series ?

Thanks for your comments but unfortunately coloring the borders was not an option, as this idea was already rejected since it was having visual problem for the end-users.
How ever since the category 4 and 5 was static, I was able to handle this by adding strip lines across the x-axis, this made the color of in the back of category 4 and 5 appear shaded.
But I am still not able to get how to handle this scenario if the values in the x-axis is dynamically.
