Your communication skills are going to come in handy here.
Hope all goes as planned.

Apart from the annoying posts, this is still the best site I have worked on, ever!

Fingers crossed for a smooth upgrade.

There are naive questions, tedious questions, ill-phrased questions, questions put after inadequate self-criticism. But every question is a cry to understand (the world). There is no such thing as a dumb question. ― Carl Sagan

Unbelievable, I was going to post the following:
Looking forward to to it. One aspect of this project has already been a success: communication!!!
Then I read the other posts; Jeff's "Looking forward", Robert's praise of your communication then Japie's mention of annoying posts. It would look like I took all other posts to heart before compiling my own.
I guess they are all just spot on.

The underlying tech and look and feel may be old but from a customer perspective this site works.
That said the new look and feel is a welcome upgrade.
I think there is a lesson in this. It is great to work on the latest tech but we should never lose site of our customers.

I don't consider myself a real SQL heavy by any means, so my comment is to be taken with a gain of salt. More often than not, the trend toward the metro style interface, if I am using the term properly, results in sites having users memorizing more icons, looking at more white space, and getting less from each screen. I hope that is not the case here. (Please pass the salt.) But if a new code base makes site maintenance more efficient on the publishing side, by all means, all the best to your team in the effort!

Same here. I like to see as much as possible on one screen without having to "remember" what was on the prior screens as I advance through them.

We try not to create extra screens for clicks. The forums should be about the same, maybe slightly styling differently, but not really more/less information.

I hope you managed to keep & maintain the Briefcase feature (with Tags) in the new version. I rely on that feature the most.
