i would appreciate a sanity check on this as i can only do this on a live server. i know this has been done to death but there are many different methods out there:
i need to change the sql service & sql agent service password. via ad. on a 2008 r2, 3 node live cluster.
my plan is:
1. change password in ad. wait 5 mins for propagation.
2. via SSCM, on (active) node 1, amend password for sql server agent. restart to check.
3. repeat the change for the agent service via SSCM on nodes 2 & 3.
4. via SSCM, amend password for sql server service.
5. repeat 4, on nodes 2 & 3.
6. failover to both to check.
7. fail back.
i'm aware i may not need to restart / failover to check but i prefer to take the downtime upfront and sleep at night thereafter.
feedback appreciated.
much obliged!

The passwords only need to be updated once and on the active node
