There was a previous discussion on this topic here: http://www.sqlservercentral.com/forums/shwmessage.aspx?messageid=131125 that explains this to a point. AFAIK you can't change the recovery mode on master in SQL Server 2000. You can change the other system DB's but keep in mind that MSDB will revert back to simple recovery mode whenever SQL Server is restarted. The size of Master should be relatively small in comparision to your user DB's, so you can perform more frequent full backups without worrying too much about disk space if that makes you feel better.
