Change intial datafile size

    All

    Initially we have created all databases with initial size of 1 gb and now we are rethinking to take the size back to 250 mb

    is that possible to take the initial size back ,if so what is best and easy procedure or script to do it .

    if any one knows help out.

    Well if the database is already created you can shrink it either through SSMS or TSQL. If you want all future databases to be created at a certain size, simple change the size of the model DB to your desired settings. Initial DB size when doing a CREATE DATABASE is determined from model.
