change dts pkg name

    Dear All,

    I'm trying to standardize my dts package names, but the field seems to be locked for edit. Is it possible to do it without getting into scripting?

    If, not, where can I find some snippet related examples?  And can i script it from a vba editor, like ms access, for instance?

    Probably the easiest way to do this is to open the package, click the menu item package and the select save as.  Give it another name and then delete the old version.  Be carefull to make sure you do not have any other packages or code that rely on this name.

    It's not possible to change DTS package names - strange but true. Craig's Save As... suggestion is the best workaround that I know.

    Also, be aware of any packages that run as scheduled jobs.

    DTSRUN ID change!!
