Change Default Script Location

  • I want to change the default location where scripts are saved or retrieved in SSMS. I've looked under Tools | Options, but I did not see anything obvious. The closest thing was a default location for storing saved Query Results. Did I overlook something?

  • i couldn't find a way to change it in the GUI, but when i looked in the registry, I found the spot to change it:

the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Shell has all the default locations.
