  I have a query about best practice when using CMS. When registering the servers do you also include the instance on which the CMS resides?

  Basically I am looking into implementing policy based management but am having trouble registering the instance on which the CMS resides. Even with a different name being registered I get the error of :

  You cannot add a shared registered server with the same name as the Configuration Server

  Anyone else come across this?
