Hello Guys,
Here is the scenario
We are running SQL Server 2008 on windows server 2003 enterprise edition.
right now we have 32 Gb of ram ,8 core, 2000 user connections and 700-1300 batch req/sec
we are upgrading the windows from 2003 to 2008 enterprize
We have bottlenecks on memory,CPU.
After tuning the CPU is good. But because of CPU controlled Memory consumption increased.
Queries are really running fast than before.
Tell how to do capacity planning for the new server box we are getting?
Is there any way have a step by step procedure to do/

Hi,
1. x64 bit Hardware and OS is batter then 32bit
2. Batter if you are using NUMA motherboard
3. Put Tempdb in RAID 0 if you using SAN
4. Separate Transaction Log files from Data Files.
