Can't Run Job Activity Monitor from Remote SSMS

    When I connect via RDP to the machine hosting SQL Server 2008 R2 and run SSMS, I can run the Job Activity Monitor. When I run SSMS on a remote machine, it says that it is "Unable to execute requested command."

    I log into SSMS using the same account in both cases.

    What could be causing that?

    Contact your System Admin. When you use the RDP you're on the native client and have different permissions from when you access remotely. That would be my guess as I had that issue myself once and had to have the SysAdm allow permissions to read cpu stat remotely.
