Can't open RSReportServer config file - Invalid license data. Reinstall is required

  • Server : SQL server 2014 Standard edition

I wanted to open RSReportServer config file as I need to addthe new path of Rstempfile in this script but then I got an error saying

“Invalid license data. Reinstall is required” – Microsoft VisualStudio 2010 shell

What I did to fix this :

    • Uninstall Visual studio 2010 shell (isolated) –ENU

    • Run repair from SQL 2014 and choose repair the shared feature ONLY

    • Restart

But it doesn’t fix this issue

    Any feedback are much appreciated

  • A repair isn't a reinstall. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the feature?

When you select Uninstall/Remove on SQL Server (2014) within Programs and Features, you'll be presented with a list of Instances to remove features from. Select the Instance, and then "Next>". Then, on the next screen, you are given a list of features to uninstall. Simply only select Reporting Services, and that'll be the only feature removed.
