Can''t modify security

I have a Reporting Services 2005 installation that has been running since May. The ReportServer database was originally on a RS 2000 installation.
I just recently found a problem with modifying security, and I'm sure it was fine at one time. When I try to modify a role or add an account to a folder I get a strange looking error in XML. The error log also shows the XML. This problem does not occur on all folders.
Has anyone seen this and know a solution? I'm thinking that I should reinstall Reporting Services, but the corruption might be in the database. I guess I could start with a fresh install and import all of the reports.
Any help would be appreciated!

One thing you can do is go through the Reporting Services Configuration tool in 2005 and rebuild the RS databases in another name. That could help you check for database corruption issues. It's a little kludgy, but I've done it before, and you'd have to re-publish the reports to the server (and re-set security groups, etc...).
Other than that, did you want to post the XML message you're getting?

The graphic I posted is a portion of the error.
If I do that approach, which is probably one of the few choices I have, I think I'll look into automating re-publishing the reports.
