Background...
We use IE 8 (ugh!!!) corporately where I work(hence... no choice)
But IE8 sucks and a lot of sites don't work with it now.
I installed Firefox and use it for all 'non-corporate' web access. (I have latest 23.0.1 version)
Suddenly SQLSERVERCENTRAL.com does not let me login when I am using FireFox.
I go to the login screen and type my email and password and it processes it but I am still not logged in.
(the screen still shows the 'Log in:' option and it says 'Not Logged In' in the banner)
If I type in an incorrect password it tells me it's a bad password. (So it seems to be understanding my correct password)
I have cleared the firefox cache, stopped and restarted the machine.
On the same machine I can login into SQLServerCentral with IE8. (ugh!.. but a least a work around)
(also IE8 remembers my login and I am automatically connected)
Any ideas...

No idea. I use Firefox most of the time on my desktop. I'd guess it has some security setting, but no idea.

I use FF myself and have no issues. I suspect it related to your cookies. Maybe you need to clear your cookies as that is what SSC uses to keep tabs on who you are and when you last visited etc.

Thanks for the info... it was a cookie problem... deleted all the SQLServerCentral cookies and now I am back in..
Sorry... I should have figured this out myself but I have so much 'extra crazy stuff' going on (just like everyone else I am sure) but this was just another straw on the camels back.
