Can't Deploy a Cube in Analysis Services. Can't connect to Server.

    hello,

    I am just starting to learn SSAS and going though exercises in book : Microsoft Sql Server 2005 Analysis services Step By Step.

    One of the excercises is to build a cube and deploy it. I am getting an error. Error is:

    "Error1The project could not be deployed to the 'RAVISMAC' server because of the following connectivity problems : A connection cannot be made. Ensure that the server is running. To verify or update the name of the target server, right-click on the project in Solution Explorer, select Project Properties, click on the Deployment tab, and then enter the name of the server.00"

    Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong. I checked the server name and everything, but it's not connecting. I am very new to this.

    I am attaching 8 pictures where, which will give a good idea that what I am doing.

    I think it doesn't work with the sql server developer edition. It works only with the enterprise edition.

    Cause I'm having the same issue.

    Just fixed the issue. Upgraded to SP2 and it solved the issue.

    I had service pack 2 installed, but it didn't work. I had to install enterprise edition on other computer, and it worked fine..
