I was experimenting with automatically scheduling a trace to run, and although I didn't succeed yet, I did manage to create a few .trc trace files that I don't need. When I try to delete them, I get a message that they "being used by another person or program", but I've logged off the server, and deleted the scheduled job.
Ideas ?

If it says they are in use, that means the traces are still running. You'll need to turn them off.

There's no new entries in the trace file for the last hour, so they don't seem to be running. But if they are, how would I turn them off since I started them through t-sql ?? Maybe I have to wait the 8 hours until my stop time hits.

You need to stop tht trace first http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822853
and then you would be able to delete the files.
