Hello,
I am trying to migrate my reports from one server (SQL Server 2005) to a new server (SQL Server 2008).
I am following a link on how to migrage from one server to another server.
http://blogs.egroup-us.com/?p=1600
This is the second time at doing this. The first time I tried, I got to the point of being able to call up Report Manager and seeing the folders. But when I went to click on a report, I got an error message.
So I deleted the databases off the new server and am going through all the steps again in case I missed a step last time.
I see that I am supposed to delete all the keys off the new server.
6.Open up the command prompt and type “RSKeyMgmt -l” to get a list of the stored encryption keys on the target server.
7.Delete all of these keys with the command “RSKeyMgmt -r <keyid>”. Repeat this command for all the key ids listed.
I am trying to delete one key that is listed but it won't delete. I've even tried modifing reportserver.cfg. I've set iswebenabled to false.
I've gone in the configuration tool and push the delete button to delete encryption content.
<b><i>
I still can't delete this key.
</i></b>
Can someone that has migrated a report server from one server to another help out please?
Why can't I delete this last key?
Thanks.
Things will work out. Get back up, change some parameters and recode.

you should see two keys listed, you only want to delete one of them, the key from the source,2005 database

Oh Okay,
The website that I using as a guide said to delete all of them. I have deleted one.
