Hello, wonder if any one you lot can help me?
All of a sudden I cant connect to our web servers SQL 2K server using Query analyzer or the mmc SQL snap in from my computer. I get the error 'cant connect to database or database does not exist'.
I can still connect to the server using terminal services and then using the mmc snap in or Query analyzer in the terminal services window.
Anyone have any ideas what may have gone wrong?

Check your registration of the server and if using an alias defined in Client Network utility, verify it is correct.

Also, if that server was rebooted recently, check the event logs to see if for whatever reason it wasn't able to rebind on the port it uses.
