I feel for you guys, i really do.
We are getting exactly the same issues, RPC unavailable, firewall completely disabled, and still these errors occur.
I know it is is getting to the computer becuase if i remove the user from the distributed COM user group, i get an access denied message, as soon as i add it back, i get the RPC unavailable message.
The next option we have is pay for a certified Microsoft DBA to come in and have a look because our network guys are at a loss as to why we are getting this error when all firewalls have been disabled , RPC and RPC locator have been enabled.
I have 2 support tickets available in my MSDN Subscription, i am tempted to waste one of these to get the bog standard answers from microsoft.
Has anyone got around this issue.
We are running on Microsoft Windows 2003 R2 SP2, Micrososft SQL Server 2005 SP3 Enterprise X64.
Any help anyone could give me as well would be very welcome.
Scott
