I have tried to do a full install of SQL Server Developer Edition several times today, but cannot get it to complete. I have successfully installed the database service and other portions, but cannot get the client tools and books online to install.
Currently I am selecting only "workstation components, Books online, and development tools" for the components to install. As soon as it starts, I get this error:
There was an unexpected failure during the set up wizard. You may review the setup logs and/or click the help button for more information.
I can't figure out what is wrong and really need to get this working. Please help...

no I did not. Why would that effect client tools install?

I found a post online saying that there is a problem with network installs for client tools with the first disk. I installed from the second disk and it worked.

just using the command prompt go within the tools folder and execute:
setup SKUUPGRADE=1
and if it does not work then follow the following url:
