I had installed Reporting Services and BI Studio on the same machine as my SQL server and IIS server.
I tried to configure my Reporting Services IIS site but screwed up some .NET settings, so I uninstalled and reinstalled Reporting Services. Now whenever I go to Reporting Services Configuration and try to create a new DB and click 'Apply', I get the following error on my IIS site:
The version of the report server database is either in a format that is not valid, or it cannot be read. The found version is 'Unknown'. The expected version is 'C.0.8.40'. To continue, update the version of the report server database and verify access rights. (rsInvalidReportServerDatabase) Get Online Help
I go back to Configuraition to try and Upgrade the database, but I get a Warning saying 'C.0.8.40' does not match my database version and therefore doesn't upgrade the database.
I have tried reinstalling with no luck. Is there any way to get around this without uninstalling the whole SQL Server and starting over?

I had the same issue and the resolution for me was to apply service pack 2 for SQL 2005 and select the Reporting Services choice.

I have applied SP2 for SQL 2005, but that hasn't helped me. Reporting Services is still not initializing. What could be wrong?
