Receiving below mentioned error:
The OLE DB provider "OraOLEDB.Oracle" for linked server "MAJESCO_OLTP" reported an error. The provider did not give any information about the error Cannot fetch a row from OLE DB provider "OraOLEDB.Oracle" for linked server "MAJESCO_OLTP”
This has occurred consistently in the last 3days. The connection fails the first time. On restarting the connection, usually it fails the first time and then second time it connects. In some cases, it connects fast but then the connection breaks after a while, may be an hour or so
Can you please urgently guide how to resolve this issue?
Thanks & Regards,
Santosh

Make sure you are using a current driver and have the correct components installed on the SQL Server box.
You may also want to see if there are any rules, packet inspections for the listener port (Oracle's default is 1521).
For urgent requests, opening a paid support ticket with a Vendor would be more appropriate.

What Oracle providers are installed on the SQL Server? What version of Oracle is your Oracle Server running. Sometimes a data type is being used and is unsupported by an older provider. Timestamps, and long varchar2 columns come to mind. What have you tried to resolve it. Can you connect and query from that server using another software such as SQL Developer?

Not to overstate what Sue has stated but consider this hypothetical and brutally honest Q&A with your client:
Client:
"How do you support your database systems that will house our data and run our reports?"
You:
"When we are not sure of a particular problem we rely on the awesome quick response team of the sqlservercentral.com bulletin board system!"
probably not the answer you would want to give to a client....
