Hello,
I have installed the SQL 2008 Feb CTP on my laptop containing SQL 2000 SP4 and SQL 2005 SP2.
The installation completes successfully, but when I run a query it executes forever, and I have to cancel it.
I can open management studio and connect to a database, and view objects etc, but nothing from within the query window.
I have enabled Named Pipes and TCP\IP, allow the TCP ports to be allocated dynamically.
Does anybody have any ideas on what else I could try?
Thanks
Paul

I have found the solution to this as follows:-
After uninstalling "Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP1 Beta Management tools ENU" first and install the "sscesqlwbtools.msi" in the "servers/setup" folder of the 2008 install files, the queries execute normal again.
