Cannot edit a linked report

    Hi

    we have a base report which is populated using a stored procedure. There is a linked report created off this report. I have to edit the column names on the linked report w/o making any changes to the main report. When i tried to edit the linked report in report builder, i'm getting the following error message

    The operation you are attempting on item 'LinkedReport' is not allowed for this item type. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.WrongItemTypeException: The operation you are attempting on item 'LinkedReport' is not allowed for this item type.

    Please need help

    Finally realised that we cannot make changes to the linked report, like editing the column names. Work around is i made a copy of the base report on my local machine. Edited using the report builder and uploaded it to the same folder.

    Open the linked report properties and click on change the link button and point it to the new report.
