Hi
these are my very first steps into analysis server.
So forgive me if this questions looks stupid. I've accessed the analysis server through the sql server management console. I've created a database within analysis server. Now I would like to create a new datasource. So I guess I should right click on it.
I get no menu when I rightclick the datasource.
Anyone got a clue ?
Should I deploy analysis server first or something like that ?
Many thx in advance

Hey JV I'm not sure about creating a datasource in mgnt studio. If I select script - create to - new query window on the adventrue works data sources I get something like the following:
can't get the xml to display not sure why the code tags don't work. see attached text file
We use Visual Studio to create all our analysis projects then deploy to the server. Honestly I didn't know you could create a analysis database from mgnt studio.
the data source view on the adv works is also an xml doc about 4200 lines long. The adv. works cube is about 20,000 lines of xml
Once you create an analysis project in VS you have a nice GUI for setting up the data sources and DSV's and cubes.
