I have already seen this problem,if you have sql server2005 "Service Pack 2" then only u will be available to use sql server on windows Vista, other wise install windows server 2003 and then u can use yr sql server 2005 no service pack is required or ucan see google that vista's necessities for sql server 2005.

Hi
After you install SP2 for sql2005, the install will ask you to adjust users permissions for VISTA.
you may want to try and (re)instal SP2 and run the procedure the SP pop up.
