The MSDE version is SP3, not 3A, it's on a 2003 Standard Edition SP2 server. I try installing base SP4 and it says it can't find SQL Server 2000. We need to get SP4 installed on it so that Data Protection Manager will be happy. It isn't really critical as I have an autoexec SP that backs up the databases whenever someone connects to the database, and I have a scheduled job that runs at 23:00 that backs up the databases and does a DBCC. So not critical, but it would make my network admin happy.
Any thoughts?

Yeah, I think that's it. Maybe I shouldn't try to download service packs late at night. 😀
