Hi All,
We have the SQL server 2005 where it has three data files on three different LUN's.
Each data file is 650 Gb but out of which data allocated is 325Gb and 325GB free space. So totally database size is 875GB but free space is approximately 900GB.
So please guide me whether i can go ahead to shrink the database files so that i can remove the free space on all database files.
else please guide me how can i remove free space on the database files.
Regards,
Sanath

Sure you can, if you know that space won't be used in a reasonable amount of time.
A once-off shrink and then rebuild all your indexes afterwards.

why you want shrink when you have more then 50% space is free ? data will now or then occupy the space its his job or nature 🙂
