Can we install a standalone SQL Server 2008 instance & a SQL Server 2005 failover cluster instance with same name

  Hi,

  We have 2 node cluster setup on Windows 2003 server. The nodes are SQL1 & SQL2

  I have installed a standalone SQL Server 2008 instance called INS1 on SQL1

  Now I want to install a SQL Server 2005 failover cluster instance and want to give the same same name INS1 and the virtual server name as SQL1VS.

  So, can we install a standalone SQL Server 2008 with instance name INS1 & failover cluster instance with same name i.e INS1?

  No as the instance name must be unique on a cluster.
