Can I replicate between MS SQL 2008 and Sybase12.5.3

  • Can I replicate between MS SQL 2008 and Sybase12.5.3?

I have just been asked to find out if we can replicate data between Sybase (12.5.3) & MSSQL2008

To buy some time I have gone back with the following questions

1)Why are we looking at replication between MS SQL 2008 & Sybase

2)What is it we want to achieve

3)Are we looking at 64 or 32 bit SQL 2008

4)What volume of transactions would we be looking at.

5)How many articles are we looking at publishing

6)What level of latency would be acceptable – does this have to be real time, or will a short delay be acceptable

7)Will the data be traveling one way ( transactional replication) or will it travel both ways (merge replication)

I know that you can set Sybase up as a linked server and replicate in 2005, but I can not find anything on the internet (Google) for 2008.

    Thanks in advance

I have talked them into using an SSIS package instead.

    Thanks
