Hi there,
just a question from the curious.
Obviously right now I can edit my post at any time.
Wouldn't it be better to disallow this when a reply (that is any post following mine in the same thread) exists?
I know edited posts are marked as such, but...

Interesting. It makes some sense, though I'd hope that people will not make significant changes. Since we are upgrading now, I'll add it to the list.

I thought that was one of the strong points of the forum an ability to edit what you wrote earlier on top of no RTFM posts

Yes, this IS one of the strong point of online forums.
However, I think when editing after someone has replied you change the facts. It's the same thing when you read a subscription mail, go online to reply and realize has the post has been deleted.
I guess basically this is a pleadings ?!? for thinking before posting and not afterwards.
