can anyone tell me,How to use the merge transformation in ssis

    Hi all, actually I am trying to merge two file...for that firstly I applied the sort on that files and then applied the merge transformation but it is not going to merge the file..can u please help me to solve this problem

    From SQL Server 2005 Books Online:

    "The Merge transformation requires that both its inputs be sorted and the merged columns have matching metadata."

    Make sure the second criterion has been met.

    Can you be more elaborative? As far as our understading goes if both the sources are sorted and passed on to a marge transformation then the merge should happen.
