Can a Fragmented Index turn a table in suspect mode?

  • Can a Fragmented Index turn a table in suspect mode?

We have a database which mode became suspect. What we did is take the database offline and make it online again then the database became available. When viewing the index in the database we saw 1 fragmented index (99%) so I ask this question just to check if this can be a factor

  • Please put the question in the post, not the header. The header gets trimmed at a certain length.

Fragmentation is just concerned with the order of pages in an index. It won't cause corruption or anything else. Those are typically caused by hardware problems.

Can you explain your problem in more detail please?
