Call another application from Access

    Hi Experts,

    Is that possible for me to call another application like scan machine from Access.  The ideal is to have a form and a button.  Everytime, users click on this button, Access will run the execute program.  Please help.  Thanks in advance.

    Yes. But watch how you handle what happens next.

    Look at the help on the shell function which allows you to run another application. Look carefully at the note at the end of the section and remember that the program you start runs asynchronously and that control may return to Access before the program you shell out to has finished running.
