Building Index in FG on diffrent disk?

    i have Index's that are up to 20GB.

    i am talking them out of the DATA(mdf) file of the DB, and put them in a FG file (per index).

    should i put them on a different disk as well?

    Different disk means what , LUNS or just a paritioned drive.

    Is this the index for a partitioned table.

    Yes, putting the indexes on separate physical disk would improve the performance.
