Hi Folks,
I am trying to install build 4226 of SQL 2005 and getting an error. I have logged on as an administrator and adminstrators have full access to c:\prog files\sql server and g:\system databases.
Can someone give me some pointers.
Log File : C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\LOG\Hotfix\SQL9_Hotfix_KB970279_sqlrun_sql.msp.log
Error Number : 29538
Error Description : MSP Error: 29538 SQL Server Setup did not have the administrator permissions required to rename a file: G:\system databases\distmdl1.mdf. To continue, verify that the file exists, and either grant administrator permissions to the account currently running Setup or log in with an administrator account. Then run SQL Server Setup again.

Came across similar issue from this SCC post
Most of what I read is if you don't find that file the install is looking for most people just created a empty file with that name to satisfy the install, but no one every replied on the forums I looked at that it worked or not.
