Okay, I finally purchased and installed SQL 2008 Developer Edition (thanks to all who steered me in that direction) and I'm now looking to download/purchase some sample databases to work with or some good books for self instruction. Anyone have any ideas?
Much appreciated,
George

Microsoft has tutorials online on MSDN. Lots of sample code, et al.

For the sample databases, lookup "Adventureworks" on the Microsoft website.
You can also go to W3Schools.com to get some instruction on beginning SQL with the understanding that it's NOT the T-SQL of SQL Server.
