Bookmarks in SSMS

  • HI all,

Not sure if this is possible I'm guessing that it is not but worth asking.

Is it possible to save book marks.

So that if you close SSMS and you open it again you have your book marks for the files you are working on.

Or do all bookmarks always run away when you close SSMS down?

    Thanks

    Chris

  • Do you mean the query files open again automatically? I don't think this is possible. You can open SSMS and have a file open, but not sure it automatically opens multiple files.

you can group things as projects, and the most recent projects and files are under the FILE menu.

  • HI Steve,

Sorry I didn't explain myself correct.

normally if you have 2 or 3 scripts open and you start creating bookmarks on them, then if you save and close those scripts(keeping SSMS open).

Then if you try and goto a bookmark it will open that file. This is great I love it.

However if I close SSMS down then when I open it and then open the Bookmarks tab all my bookmarks are gone, and I have to create them all over again for all the files I was working on.

Is it possible to save the actual book marks with the scripts or in a solution or project?

    Thanks

    Chris

  • I'm pretty sure you can't.
