if you already have SQL 2005 then BIDS will be on the SQL 2005 install disk

run the installer again, there is a check box to install BIDS

Which edition of SQL? BIDs is not included in the free edition.
If it's a paid edition, install and make sure that both 'Management tools' options are checked

What error? There's no error on that screen.
BIDS is set to install, so click next and go through the installation.

It's still not an error. That means that the products are already installed. So you just need to find them.
Here's where my shortcut points to for bids :
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe"

There is no error in that screen shot.
If you mean the red X, that just means that feature is not currently installed and is not selected for installation.

Maybe the shortcut's been deleted. Is it in the list of installed programs on your machine?

Hey dude here's the path to rebuild your link!!!!
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe"
If it's NOT there, then do a search for devenv.exe and you'll find it.

Actually, i have visual studio 8, 9 and 10 all installed and when i search for the devenv.exe, its only
on visual studio 10...
but when i open that, i cant find analysis services...
the whole purpose of this is that i want to build a cube in there...
Thanks for your responses.

Open visual studio 8. New project and check the types of projects. BIDs in SQL 2005 is Visual studio 8, not visual studio 10.
