BIDS disappeared

    Hello,

    I have sql server 2005 developer edition installed on a 32bit vista home premium computer.

    I installed database engine, SSAS, SSIS. Obviously VS2005 was installed along with sql server.

    I used BIDS to develop SSAS, SSIS projects.

    All of a sudden, i don't see BIDS. When i go to programs --> Sql server 2005 --> i don't see BIDS there.

    Also, when i type devenv in the command promt, it says windows cannot find devenv.

    I did not find anything in the windows logs aswell.

    Any idea of how to troubleshoot this will be appreciated.

    To add more to this... i am able to connect to Analysis services, Integration Services engine through SSMS.

    So, is the problem with VS2005 on my box?

    is vs2005 previously installed before you install sql server 2005

    No. I have only the one that gets installed with sql server.

    Also i tried to install VS2005 express edition. The installation was not succeful. It says the setup.exe stopped working.
