Morning all,
I'm trying to decide if I should have separate windows accounts for my SQL Server, Agent, SSRS etc. services. (As in separate accounts for the services on 1 instance),
I guess given that they need different ACLs / NT rights, it would be better practice to have different accounts. I'm just wondering if it gets a bit over granular / over the top?
Looking for advice based on your experience / sops / thoughts if possible.
Thank you.

Simple answer, yes separate accounts is the best way to go.

Also when amending windows permissions for a SQL service account - do I need to restart for the changes to take effect?

No you shouldn't need to restart.
Thanks
