There are different types of DBMS products: relational, network and hierarchical. The most widely commonly used type of DBMS today is the Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS).You are showing your age pal 😀
Don't worry, I myself started my "database career" working with Cincom's Total - probably the most beautiful "network" dbms ever created.
And let's not forget OODBMSs. Well, except they all store their data as hierarchies so they're really hierarchical databases.
So graph databases! Those are the newest, most exciting thing in the DBMS world, right! They've got buzzwords like "NoSQL", and so on! That makes them ... a skin on top of a OODBMS, which is a skin on top of a hierarchical DBMS...
Hmmmm....
Not getting much joy here finding something newer than those three you mentioned. Just old cars with new paint.
