Hi Friends,
I am working in a support team where we use SQL Server 2008 as our DB. I am very much interested in making my Career in DBA. However, i am not really sure where to start from. I am good at SQL Server, but i have never involved in any administration activites. Do i need to do any certifications or any training programs. Your suggestions would be really helpful for me.
Thanks and Regards,
Murali

This question has been asked many times! There are lots of threads on this web site that cover this.
In a Nut shell, training is helpful but to be a good DBA you need to start reading as many books as possible continue to read sites like this. There is way way to much to learn to think if you got to training then you will be DBA, although it is a start and it wont hurt, you need to read on your own
Follow treads try to join in as much as possible, read as many blogs as you can.
DBA are self taught, as my Database Professor use to say STUDY STUDY STUDY no easy way out.....
Good LUCK
