BCP process explanation

  • Good Day,

been using BCP for years now and it works perfectly (doing the unload faster than the export command in EM). Just want to know the reason behind the speed of the command (BCP) how does it do that? anyone care to explain?

  • Because BCP is a bulk operation.

  • That's it sir? its bulk operation and export proc in EM is not? how about running same query (with where clause) in both bcp and EM? bcp will still use bulk operation and EM export will be in per row basis? Thanks....
