Basic Availability Group on SQL Server 2014 Standard

  • Hello Everyone,

I would like this solution and wanted to know if is possible to be done:

Two Nodes Windows 2012 R2, one active one passive.

Sql Server 2014 Standard One active sending logs to the passive Node (instance) with no shared disk.

In Oracle there is a solution called Dataguard that let me do that and I need to implement a SQL server solution similar to what Oracle offers.

    Thanks in advance.

  • I was researching and i find out that the mirroring offers exactly the same as oracle Dataguard.

But also found that is going to be deprecated soon, but is still available in SQL SERVER 2016, so i'm going with that solution.

Thanks for all the viewers of the post.

I promise you I will have clients still using database mirroring 15 years from now. Works fine, lasts a LONG time. 🙂
