Hey all. I am having trouble locating a simple script that will compress .bak files into .zip files using WinRAR and then delete the .bak files to save on space. If anyone knows one, that would be great?

Yes. That solution I was directed to wasn't as helpful as I would have liked, so I thought maybe if I posted in this forum, I might find a better solution.

I believe that duplicate entries are not allowed on this forum.
Just post what is it that you did not like about suggested solution?
IDERA SQLSafe suggests a freeware version http://www.idera.com/Products/SQLsafefree/. It is including a network comression as well as file compression. Download, install, use and enjoy faster backups with smaller files and less traffic. RedGate and Quest have similar products (I am not sure though about their free versions).

So, I have to agree, what is wrong with the solution Steve suggested here
