Hi everyone, I have a server with 1G of RAM. In Task Manager, I only see approximately 700M of RAM being used for all users. However, only 5M of RAM is still available. Does this imply that there is some bad memory? Thank you.

Possible. Any other applications also run in the same machine?

Hi Allen, no other applications are on this server. Only the bare bones of Win 2000 and sql server. When I add up the memory usage, I get approximately 700M. I have been keeping an eye on this for 2 days now. What do you suggest I should do?

Can you explain more why do you think there is only 5MB memory available even system consumes only 700MB of 1GB?

I get the 5M available memory from the Task Manager window, Performance tab. Under Physical Memory, the Available value is around 5M. Thanks.

If you see available memory consistantly around 5MB and only 700MB be used of 1GB, Go contact your hardware vendor to see any diagnosis tools to help you.
