How to know if I have bad locks or good locks?

Locks are at the foundation of RDBMS.
Blocking locks are bad.
Check wait events.

I really cant segregate locks as 'good' or 'bad'. There are various types of locks used for different purpose by the sql server.
Can u elaborate more on what u're seeking?
