Backups and Backup Devices

    Hi.

    Here is the backup command I see ina DTS Package:  BACKUP DATABASE DB1 TO Current_DB1_Bk WITH INIT

    How do I know where it is going?  Is there a sys table for such things?  I keep hearing about backup devices?

    Backup device data is stored in the sysdevices table of the master DB.  Querying this table will give you the location of the logical back up devices which are listed in the 'phyname' column.  You can also get this info from EM selecting Management, Backup.  Hope this helps.
