I used to do full backups on a database that was about 45 Gigs. Now we merged with another company and merged db size is now 200 GB I need to go about doing a weekly-full and daily-differential routine. My question is I use Maintainance plan to do full backup, what is the best method to do differential and more impt how can I keep differential files seperated by that date. Please help
Thanks

Do them as often as you can. Depends on time it takes to do them and your requirements.
There are scripts in the library here to do full backup. You could easily modify one to do diffs. They usually backup by time/date.

Agreed. Its either TSQL or DMO, take your pick. You can leave the maintenance plan as is, just add in a job that does the differentials.
