Getting the message:
Nonrecoverable I/O error occurred on file 'd:\..MDF'. BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally.
I've tried backing up to two separate drives, does this mean the file is corrupt?
Thanks...Nali

Hi,
Nali, First make sure that the path supplied is good, then look out for another location.
Does it have any Error number?

Is there anything else in the Windows error log?
Have you tried a different path/filename to be sure there's not something wrong with that file?

There wasn't anything else in the event logs. The mdf file itself was corrupt. I was able to detach the database, but not copy or do anything else with the mdf. I was able to copy the log file. I was able to use dbcc to repair and then back it up. The hard drive is showing errors.
Thanks for your help...Nali
